Multi reed instrumentalist Will Boyd hails from the soul sax tradition like artists such as Eddie Harris, David “Fathead” Newman and Houston Person With his Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of Tennessee, Will has studied with great jazz educator/ performers Donald Brown and Jerry Coker He appeared on many recordings and has two solo projects “Live at the Red Piano Lounge” and “Freedom, Soul, Jazz” As well as leading his own quintet, and Latin jazz ensemble, will is a member of the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra.
