Nina Ernst recorded her first Bossa Nova album with the beautiful songs of Antônio Carlos Jobim (label: Fina Flor / Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
On the CD “Nina Ernst canta Jobim,” the German singer Nina Ernst interprets the jewels of the great composer Tom Jobim, such as Água de Beber, Insensatez, A Felicidade, Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar, Dindi, Desafinado, Triste, Inútil Paisagem, Amor em Paz, Corcovado and Chega de Saudade.
The arrangements were written by producer Ruy Quaresma and Fernando Merlino.
The production includes the musicians Humberto Araújo (flute, sax, clarinet); Ruy Quaresma (guitar); Fernando Merlino (piano); Zé Luis Maia (bass) and Jorge Gomes (drums).
With this work, Nina had intense contact with the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture. It can be said that the singularity of Tom Jobim’s style provoked in the German singer a kind of love at first sight.
For a few years Nina and her band have represented a very successful Brazilian-German meeting in Brazil and were invited by the German embassy and consulates to perform, also at the “Bossa Nova in Concert” festival in Rio de Janeiro.
