Artist Biography

British-Australian vocalist Hetty Kate launches Jazz in Four Seasons: Spring, Vol. 1, the first of a four-album global project recorded with Czech jazz musicians in Prague, featuring violin, flute, and the a traditional instrument of the region, a cimbalom. Known for her precision, poise, and adventurous approach to rhythm and harmony, Hetty Kate reimagines standards like “It Might As Well Be Spring” in 7/4 and blends the repertoire to reflect spring’s duality. Now based in Paris, Hetty has performed in 28 countries, including major jazz festivals, and was a featured vocalist with Australian jazz lumninary James Morrison’s touring band. Her work bridges accessible storytelling with sophisticated, globally inspired jazz explorations.
