“Debut” resides in the musical landscape of modern jazz and extends the continuum of Nordic and American jazz into the next decade. Influenced by great American improvisors such as Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Brian Blade, guitarist Martin Nodeland has developed a sophisticated musical language and displays astounding maturity as a composer, interpreter and performer throughout “Debut”.
Along with the Norwegian quartet, Nodeland has brought in the great altosaxophone player Will Vinson, who contributes to the ensembles expressiveness with his astounding and creative playing.
