Petros Klampanis is an award-winning bassist, composer, and producer known for blending jazz improvisation with cinematic orchestrations and Greek folk elements. Based between Athens and New York, he has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall and the Blue Note Jazz Club, and collaborated with artists such as Arooj Aftab, Greg Osby, Oded Tzur, Anoushka Shankar, and Aaron Goldberg. His acclaimed albums include Minor Dispute (named among NPR’s Best of the Year), Tora Collective (recipient of the German Critics’ Award for Best Ethnic Album), and the IMA-winning Irrationalities and Chroma. Klampanis leads projects that place the bass at the center, as a lyrical, rhythmic, and narrative voice beyond genre.
