Pianist/composer Ricardo Bacelar and percussionist Airto Moreira (Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Stan Getz), release their highly anticipated album, Maracanós, on Jasmin Music. The inspiration for the album emerged during the filming of a documentary that delves into the personal and musical journeys of Moreira and his partner, renowned vocalist Flora Purim, who is featured on the single “Voo da Tarde.”
Maracanós was recorded in 2024 and 2025 at Bacelar’s Jasmin Studios in Fortaleza, Brazil. The album fuses acoustic and digital instruments to present a wide tonal mix of rhythmic and harmonic music, blending several genres over eight tracks. Rio de Janeiro’s Kalimera String Quartet is featured on two tracks, with arrangements by Liduíno Pitombeira. The single “Pé no Chã” is complemented by a dynamic video adapted to the music, which is also being released on April 24, 2026.
