Artist Biography

Sofiane Pamart unveils his fourth album MOVIE, out April 17.

Sofiane Pamart invites 14 collaborators – Wyclef Jean, Celeste, Loreen, Jimmy Butler, Rema, J Balvin, FKJ, Christine and the Queens, SIA, RIMON, RILÈS, Melody Gardot, Oscar and the Wolf, and Nelly Furtado, in order of appearance – into his piano-centered world, where each explores new textures and colors in their voice.

Internationally acclaimed pianist Sofiane Pamart is set to release his fourth studio album, MOVIE, on April 17. Conceived as the first “film” he has ever scored, the album unfolds as both a deeply personal and cinematic journey – an immersive soundtrack to an imaginary movie imagined and directed by Pamart himself. On MOVIE, he assumes not just the role of composer but that of a musical director, inviting fourteen protagonists into his universe, offering each artist the space to navigate the emotional depths of the piano while discovering new colors and textures in their own voice.

“I listen for the places in a voice where life has left a mark. Technical perfection doesn’t move me. What moves me is when a voice carries something unresolved, something it hasn’t fully made peace with. Tone matters, character matters, but I’m searching for stories too heavy to live only in the singer’s voice, stories that need sound to hold them,” Sofiane Pamart explains. This philosophy guides every collaboration on MOVIE, shaping the album as a space where each featured artist can expand and transform within his musical narrative.

The album opens with legendary hip-hop icon Wyclef Jean, whose rhythm and storytelling set the cinematic stage, followed by soul singer Celeste, bringing her deep, emotional resonance. Swedish pop sensation and two-time Eurovision winner Loreen infuses the work with ethereal energy, and NBA superstar Jimmy Butler, known not only for his athletic prowess but also his leadership and global influence in the sport, makes his musical debut, delivering a spoken word performance that merges sport, voice, and cinema. Afrobeats star Rema injects vibrant, contemporary grooves, while global reggaeton sensation J Balvin contributes rhythm, energy, and urban storytelling. Multi-instrumentalist FKJ weaves lush, soulful textures, and visionary French artist Christine and the Queens adds theatricality and introspection. International pop icon SIA delivers her unmistakable voice to dramatic moments, emerging talent RIMON provides rich, evocative textures, and French rapper RILÈS bridges urban beats with emotional depth. Jazz virtuoso Melody Gardot adds sophistication and elegance, Belgian electro-pop artist Oscar and the Wolf contributes atmospheric soundscapes, and internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado, recently inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, enhances the cinematic narrative with her versatile presence.

Pamart’s connection to cinema informs the album’s creative vision. “When I watch a film, I have no emotional distance. I follow the characters into their hearts. I feel what they feel,” he says. MOVIE transforms this cinematic approach into sound, inviting listeners to live the story alongside each musical protagonist. The album also features the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, renowned for their work in film soundtracks, elevating Pamart’s ambitious vision while inspiring a new generation to engage with choral music.

Following the release of MOVIE, Sofiane Pamart will headline one of Europe’s most ambitious piano concerts at the Stade de France in April 2027, bringing his cinematic world to life on a monumental scale. MOVIE is more than an album – it is a journey, a musical film where 14 protagonists traverse the vast landscapes of piano, voice, and story under the direction of Sofiane Pamart, in a world where music and cinema converge into a singular experience.
