In recent years, Quentin Coaxum has become one of Chicagoʼs brightest emerging young trumpeters. Coaxum has been a featured performer at The Chicago Jazz Festival and The Hyde Park Jazz Festival. As a performer, Coaxum has garnered praise for his ability to compose and perform with modern lyricism while also displaying a knowledge of many musical traditions. Coaxum’s first album as a leader, “Current”, was released on the Skiptone Music Label in 2014. Coaxum’s most recent project, “You & I” was released on 9/24/20.
